British Taekwondo is proud to announce the formation of a new Education Advisory Group (EAG) to help strengthen the quality, accessibility, and relevance of our coach education programmes across the UK.
This new group is being created to ensure that British Taekwondo’s learning and development pathways are guided by the insight and experience of those actively delivering Taekwondo and working in education.
We’re looking for individuals with a passion for coach education and a track record of teaching, instructing, or curriculum design – whether in sport, schools, or higher education.
We’re now inviting expressions of interest from members of the Taekwondo community who believe they can bring valuable experience and insight to this voluntary group. The EAG will consist of a maximum of five members, meeting virtually 5–6 times between appointment and the end of their term, which is set to be the 31st December 2026.
The EAG will provide guidance across a number of areas including content development, instructional design, and quality assurance – supporting British Taekwondo to deliver a more inclusive, engaging and effective learning experience for our coaches.
Whether it’s reviewing curriculum materials, helping us offer more Taekwondo-specific modules on the course, or helping us stay aligned with modern teaching methods, the group will play a key role in ensuring our coach education is the best it can be.
Ian Leafe, CEO of British Taekwondo, said: “The formation of the Education Advisory Group marks a crucial step in the evolution of our coach development strategy.
“It is vital that we build a learning environment that reflects the needs of our coaches and the communities they serve. By bringing together voices from across the sport and the wider education sector, this group will help us shape high-quality, inclusive, and accessible education pathways that empower our coaches.
“We’re committed to removing barriers and setting new standards for coach learning in British Taekwondo, and this group will be instrumental in making that happen.”
