The first steps to national team selection is participation in open Poomsae seminars and selection into national squad training sessions.

The Poomsae Athlete Pathway is shown below.

  • Step 1 – Club Training – for basics and minimum level for open seminars (usually Blue Belt)
    • Step 2 – Attending Official British Taekwondo Open Poomsae Seminars
      • Step 3 – Selected to join National Regional Squad
        • Step 4 – Selected to join Centralised National Elite Squad
          • Step 5 – Selected for GB Team for Major Championships

Details of the British Taekwondo Poomsae Centralised Squad Selection Procedure for 2023

For 2023 there will be a centralised squad and regional squads. The selection procedure refers to the centralised squad.

Selections for the 2023 regional squads will take at the National Championships and in January/February at the Regional sessions.
