Information and updates on Anti-Doping.
All athletes have the right to compete in sport knowing that they, and their competitors, are clean. We believe in clean sport and work in partnership with UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) and our International Federation, World Taekwondo, to ensure that the integrity of our sport is protected.
Anti-Doping Rules
The Board of British Taekwondo have adopted the rules of UK Anti-Doping who in place a set of anti-doping rules that all athletes and athlete support personnel must abide by.
Therefore, the anti-doping rules for British Taekwondo and UKAD are consistent with the World Anti-Doping Code (the Code), the core document that harmonizes anti-doping policies, rules and regulations within sport globally.
As the anti-doping rules of British Taekwondo are the rules published by UK Anti-Doping (or its successor), as amended from time to time, then you as a member of British Taekwondo then these anti-doping rules apply to you, regardless of what level you participate at. You can find the UK Anti-Doping Rules on the UK Anti-Doping website.

The 2024 Prohibited List
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has issued the 2024 Prohibited List (the List), which details the substances and methods that are banned within sport. Broken down into several categories, the List identifies which substances and methods are prohibited
A key change to this years List is that from 1st January 2024, tramadol will be prohibited in-competition. Any athlete found to be using tramadol in-competition faces the prospect of an Anti-Doping Rule Violation and a ban from sport. UKAD has released some initial information around tramadol which can be found here.
