Safeguarding in sport is the process of protecting children and adults from harm by providing a safe space in which to play sport and be active.
A key part of safeguarding is spreading the message about keeping children and vulnerable participants safe and building a culture of always acting in the best interest of all involved.
The NSPCC state “All organisations that work with or come into contact with children should have safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure that every child, regardless of their age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation, has a right to equal protection from harm.”
Our approach to this should be to protect ourselves and others by adopting a positive attitude to this vital training.
