Join British Taekwondo.
From beginners to seasoned veterans, Olympic competitors, international team members, Officials, Referees, Instructors & Coaches and Club Members – everyone in British Taekwondo needs to be an individually registered British Taekwondo member.
The process to become a British Taekwondo member is simple and by joining you are ensuring that you are practicing Taekwondo in a safe, regulated, and supportive environment.
British Taekwondo is the National Governing Body for the Olympic sport of Taekwondo in the United Kingdom and is a member of World Taekwondo, the European Taekwondo Union, the British Olympic Association & British Paralympic Association.

From the 1st April 2025 the cost of British Taekwondo membership is*:
- Member (all ages) £30
- Instructor (with / without Level 2) £75 / £115
- Club Affiliation £20
*plus any additional club membership fees that may apply
The annual individual British Taekwondo Membership Fee is reviewed annually, lasts for 12 calendar months and is non-refundable.
Joining a Taekwondo club
Deciding which club to join can be a bit daunting, and it’s not always obvious which are well run and which are not. Here is our guide on what to look for and ask when you are considering joining a club.
Membership of British Taekwondo provides you with:

- Training and coaching delivered by qualified, registered, insured and DBS checked Instructors and Assistant Coaches working to high standards.
- Access to British Taekwondo Events, Seminars, Courses, Competitions and Gradings both locally and nationally.
- An individual Membership Certificate showing your unique Membership Number and period of validity.
- Membership to the National Governing Body and part of the Olympic Sport of Taekwondo in the United Kingdom.
- Membership to World Taekwondo and the European Taekwondo Union along with 60 million other members worldwide.
