British Taekwondo is forming a new National Poomsae Championships Advisory Group (PCAG), designed to support the planning and delivery of a high-quality National Poomsae Championships in 2025.
Having listened to the feedback from last year’s event in Kettering, we feel it is important that members of the Poomsae community are involved in the planning process for this year’s Championships, set to be staged at the David Ross Sports Village, in the University of Nottingham on 1st-2nd November.
This new group will consist of up to five members drawn from within the British Taekwondo community and will offer expert advice to help shape the event from multiple perspectives — including athletes, coaches, referees, and organisers.
The PCAG will play a key role in providing expert insights into sport-specific needs for Poomsae athletes, as well as ensuring this year’s event is delivered in a way that aligns with British Taekwondo’s values.
British Taekwondo CEO Ian Leafe said: “The launch of the National Poomsae Championships Advisory Group marks an important step forward for British Taekwondo.
“We’ve listened carefully to the feedback from last year’s event, and this new group will brings together the experience and insight of our dedicated members to help us raise the standard to the level we expect of ourselves, and more important, expected by our members.
“Together, we’re committed to creating a high-quality event that is well organised, more inclusive, and reflects the passion, excellence and commitment of our Poomsae community.”
We are excited to move forward with the help of the Poomsae community, and by working together, we are confident that the 2025 British Taekwondo National Poomsae Championships will be an event that we can all be proud of.
