British Taekwondo is proud to support and promote inclusion across all levels of the sport, working with individuals with Cerebral Palsy to ensure they have access to meaningful, high-quality opportunities in Taekwondo.

Through adaptive coaching methods, tailored training environments, and a growing awareness of the diverse needs of athletes, British Taekwondo continues to break down barriers and foster participation among those with physical disabilities.

As the organization expands its work within Para Taekwondo, British Taekwondo remains committed to ensuring that individuals with Cerebral Palsy have the chance to train, compete, and thrive in a sport that values respect, perseverance, and community.

Celebrating Samantha Carrington

Sam 1 1

One of the most inspiring examples of this inclusive approach is the journey of Samantha Carrington. Diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, Samantha has risen through the ranks of Para Taekwondo with determination, resilience, and passion.

With the support of British Taekwondo and a dedicated coaching team, Samantha has progressed from local grassroots training to proudly representing her country on the international stage and becoming a  three-time World Champion and Great Britian Para Poomsae Athlete.

Samantha’s achievements are a powerful testament to what is possible when opportunity meets dedication. Her journey reflects not only her personal strength but also the importance of inclusive pathways in sport. British Taekwondo is honoured to support athletes like Samantha, who continue to inspire the next generation and demonstrate that disability is no barrier to excellence.
