British Taekwondo Disability

Para Taekwondo is an exciting and successful part of British Taekwondo’s legacy. We have many athletes across different levels of taekwondo who have a disability. Taekwondo is for everyone, and British Taekwondo offer many opportunities for disabled peopled to be involved with both Poomsae and Kyorugi.

British Taekwondo are working to support our coaches to deliver to everybody who enters their club, whether they have a disability or not. We want our clubs to be inclusive and accessible by all. To access resources and support for your club, please follow the Resources tab on the left-hand side of this page.

Para Poomsae Performance Pathway

Our Para Poomsae Performance squad is a very key part of the development of disability within the sport. We have a pathway which is open on a development level to anyone who participates in Taekwondo and has a disability, regardless of your level of Taekwondo. We are keen to grow the talent pool of athletes in order to become a leading performance pathway in Para sport, to have more podium potential athletes and take medals at international events. If you are interested in finding out more about the Para Poomsae Performance Pathway, please email our Disability Officer.

Disability Resources

British Taekwondo has been working with National Governing Bodies to create the following resources. These aim to guide our members and ensure the sport is as accessible to as many people as possible.
