British Taekwondo Poomsae National Championships, Worcester 2022
The British Taekwondo National Poomsae Championships will take place at the University of Worcester Arena on the 12th and 13th of November 2022.

We are looking for volunteers to help us deliver the event. Please do let us know if you, or your club members, are able to support us.
Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport Week
This week, 3rd to 9th October, is Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport Week. Previously known as Parents in Sport Week, this is the NSPCC’s annual awareness campaign helping parents to keep their children safe in sport, supported by the NSPCC’s Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU).
Child abuse and neglect can only be tackled if we all play our part, whether that’s at home, at school or in sport settings

3rd Manchester Open Poomsae Championships – Sunday 9th October
The 3rd Manchester Open Poomsae Championships will be taking place at the George Carnall Community Hub in Urmston, Manchester on Sunday 9th October.
World Mental Health Day – Monday 10th October
World Mental Health Day is a chance to talk about mental health in general, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to talk about things and get help if you are struggling.
This year more than ever, we want to encourage our clubs to spread this awareness through conversation, action and continual work moving forward.
Cadet European Championships Selection Event – Liverpool, Saturday 15th October
Entries are now open for the Cadet European Championships Selection Event at the FireFit Hub in Liverpool on Saturday 15th October. The deadline for entries is this Friday, 7th October.
Results and ranking points won at this event will be totalled together, the athlete with the highest number of ranking points will be selected to represent British Taekwondo. This competition will be used to select National Teams for the 2022 Cadet European Championships in Valetta, Malta from the 25th to 28th November.
World Taekwondo Grand Prix III – Manchester, Thursday 20th to Sunday 23rd October
Manchester is set to play host to the Champions of Taekwondo at the World Taekwondo Grand Prix III this month. Over 250 athletes representing 50 global nations will compete at the Manchester Regional Arena across four thrilling days of action. With only the Top 31 world ranked athletes in each Olympic category invited to compete, come and see the Champions battle for glory.
Don’t forget our member offer – Meet the athletes at the World Taekwondo Grand Prix. Members who book World GP tickets for Thurs 20 Oct or Fri 21st Oct will be invited to an exclusive meet the athlete event.
Martial Arts Seminar – Manchester, Sunday 30th October
The next Taekwondo seminar from the Martial Arts Performance Department is scheduled to take place at the GB Taekwondo National Centre in Manchester on Sunday 30th October 2022.
The 1st LMC Prize Fighter Championships – Sunday 4th December 2022
The 1st LMC Prize Fighter Championships will be held at Places Leisure in Eastleigh, Southampton on Sunday 4th December and entries are open.
End of Year Celebration & Awards – Saturday 10th December
Tickets are now available for our End of Year Awards & Dinner to be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Manchester City Centre on Saturday 10th December.
The End of Year celebration is a special event to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the Taekwondo family in the UK. In 2022 we will host the event in Manchester and hope to welcome as many of the British Taekwondo community as possible to mark another year, our 40th, in style.

Events Policy Pilot
To manage events effectively and fairly, and address the fundamental structural stresses that have been highlighted in the review of event sanctioning, a sanctioning system that balances the frequency, geographical spread and quality of domestic events will be adopted as a pilot scheme for 2023. Volunteer Department Vacancy
We have a vacancy for a Chair of the Sport Performance Department. British Taekwondo is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to lead and chair one of our volunteer workforce departments, responsible for the development and management of our Sport Performance Program in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. CrashCourse Concussion Education programme
As part of our overall duty of care and our commitment to all British Taekwondo members we launched our free-to-use Concussion Education programme earlier this year.
You can take the CrashCourse free-to-use, online Concussion Education programme to learn more about concussion and head injury in sport. Please do share the link to CrashCourse with your members and networks.

2022 British Taekwondo National Sport Championships
Almost 1,000 athletes competed in the two-day national event, the largest field of competitors in a British Taekwondo event in our 40-year history.

Congratulations to all of the new National Champions. Well done to all of the athletes who competed in the event and thank you to all of the clubs, coaches and supporters who made the event a success.
Muju Poomsae Open Challenge Final 2022
Four British Taekwondo member athletes have been invited to compete in the Muju Challenge Final. The Muju Taekwondowon Online 2022 World Taekwondo Poomsae Open Challenge has seen athletes from World Taekwondo member nations compete in a series of online events since March. The live final of the event will take place this month.
GB teams at the European Under 21 Taekwondo Championships
Congratulations to the Great Britain teams who recently competed at the European Under 21 Taekwondo Championships in Albania. A huge well done to the athletes that made the team and a big thank you to the support team.
British Taekwondo’s National Teams are sponsored by Range Sports. The sponsorship kicked off with Jcalicu uniforms being supplied to the National Teams at the World Taekwondo Cadet World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria in July.
2023 Poomsae Squad Selection Procedure
