Safeguarding is essential in keeping everyone safe in Sport. Learn more about British Taekwondo’s safeguarding policies.
As the parent or guardian of a young person who is currently taking part in Taekwondo, are you aware of British Taekwondo’s policies and procedures surrounding safeguarding when training.
Our website has a dedicated section covering everything to-do with safeguarding in Taekwondo.
We recommend that all parents familiarise themselves with the policies & documents, the reporting, and the FAQ’s section.
The website also contains advice for parents, advice for young people and advice for adult athletes.
The advice for parent’s section covers things such as:
- How can I support my child in Taekwondo?
- What to do if you have concerns about other children or parents within your Taekwondo community?
- What to do if you child seems upset and reluctant to talk after training?
- What to do about bullying?
- Online safety for young people?

If you have any questions or issues about safeguarding within your Taekwondo club or within the wider Taekwondo community as a whole, please contact Rachel Smith at safeguarding@britishtaekwondo.org.
