Three British Taekwondo referees represented British Taekwondo with dedication and professionalism last weekend at the Open Internacional Don Quijote 2024 in Ciudad Real, Spain!
The referees took part in the event on Saturday 16th November and Sunday 17th November at the Pabellón Municipal “Puerta de Santa María”.
Over two action-packed days, the referees present each played pivotal roles in ensuring a smooth and fair competition:
✨ Xin Li and Siew Kim Lee, both National Kyorugi and Poomsae referees, officiated intense sparring matches on Day 1, upholding fairness and safety for all athletes.
✨ Carolina Barros Clark, Poomsae IR, supported the event as a TA and Computer Operator, keeping everything running seamlessly behind the scenes.
The event saw over 500 participants across each day of the event, with Day 2 showcasing high-level Kyorugi and Poomsae performances.
During the Poomsae day, the level of technical skill was admirably high, and many competitors from the Spanish national team were gearing up for the 2024 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Hong Kong!
The British Taekwondo team worked hard, and their commitment did not go unnoticed. This led to the OC expressing that they are expecting to get British Taekwondo referees’ continued support in future events.
