British Taekwondo is pleased to announce the confirmation of members to the National Poomsae Championships Advisory Group (PCAG), a dedicated panel formed to support and strengthen the planning of a high-quality National Poomsae Championships in 2026.

The PCAG played a key role in providing expert insights ahead of the 2025 British Taekwondo National Poomsae Championships, and following on from that success, we look forward to working with passionate members of the Poomsae Community to create a high-standard event at David Ross Sports Village in Nottingham on November 7-8 this year.

The group is made up of four members of the Poomsae community who come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Together, they bring a wealth of knowledge, passion, and a shared vision for raising the standard and visibility of poomsae nationwide.

The PCAG will play a key role in providing expert insights into sport-specific needs for Poomsae athletes, as well as ensuring this year’s event is delivered in a way that aligns with British Taekwondo’s values.

Jenny Furness (PremierKi)

Jenny Furness was a part of the PCAG for 2025 and returns for this year, she is a 5th Dan who has been training in Taekwondo for over 27 years. Jenny has competed in Poomsae for 10 years and is a member of the Great Britain Elite Poomsae squad, as well as a Class 2 Referee. She has competed not only in the UK, but also at a number of international competitions, including twice at the European Championships, and also at the World Championships in 2024.

Lisa Scott (Ascend Taekwondo)

Lisa Scott is a 4th Degree Black Belt and experienced Taekwondo coach with over 22 years of training and 18 years of coaching experience. She currently serves as a Regional GB Coach and has played an important role in developing athletes within the British Taekwondo performance pathway.

As the founder and head coach of Ascend Taekwondo, Lisa has built a successful club focused on athlete development, discipline, and long-term performance. Under her guidance, several of her students have progressed into elite programmes, with athletes selected to compete at World-level competitions.

Chris Pearson (Phoenix Taekwondo)

Chris Pearson also returns to form part of the PCAG after being part of the group in 2026. He is from Phoenix Taekwondo and is a 6th Dan Kukkiwon Master, training in Taekwondo for almost 40 years. His club brings some of the largest teams to many Poomsae competitions each year, providing a broad perspective on the competition experience. Chris is also a GB Regional Poomsae Coach and a qualified and very active Class 1 National Poomsae Referee, offering a valuable alternative perspective to competitions from the Referees Table.

Chan Sau (Loughton Taekwondo)

Chan Sau is a 6th Dan Kukkiwon Master with 33 years Taekwondo experience from local level to World Championship level including as Technical Lead at various national Poomsae Championships in the UK as well as supporting many other domestic and international championships.

Returning to join the PCAG for a second year, Chan is a World Taekwondo Class 1 International Poomsae Coach with extensive coaching experience as part of the British Taekwondo Poomse Performance Programme as well as being a Class 1 Referee. He also has an incredible record of international success as an athlete representing Great Britain at six World Poomsae Championships, a three-time Commonwealth Poomsae Champion and 12-time British National (Individual) Champion.

Upon the naming of the members of the group, British Taekwondo CEO Dave Marshall said: “It’s fantastic to see members of our community who are so highly engaged in Poomsae and committed to driving improvements that will benefit everyone who attends the 2026 National Poomsae Championships.
