British Taekwondo is looking for a passionate, organised and member-focused individual to join our team as a Community Officer.
As the National Governing Body for Olympic Taekwondo in Great Britain, British Taekwondo supports a network of around 600 clubs across the UK, working with members, coaches, volunteers and communities to develop and deliver opportunities across the martial art.
Our Community Officers play an important role in that work, helping clubs and members access the support, services and information they need. The new Community Officer will be a friendly and knowledgeable first point of contact for our members, helping to ensure that every interaction with British Taekwondo is welcoming, clear and solution-focused.
About the role
The role is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, with a hybrid home and office working arrangement. Reasonable travel may also be required.
The successful candidate will build positive relationships with members, clubs, coaches, volunteers and community partners, responding to enquiries across telephone, email, digital channels and face-to-face contact.
A key part of the role will be taking ownership of member enquiries from the first point of contact through to resolution, providing clear information and ensuring people feel supported throughout their experience with British Taekwondo.
The role will also support a broad range of membership and governance activities, including:
- Membership applications, renewals, registrations, payments and account queries
- International licences and Club Welfare Officer administration
- Certification and licensing support
- Safeguarding and welfare administration
- Maintaining accurate member and stakeholder records
- Supporting CRM and membership systems
- Data, insight and service improvement
- Community programmes, events and development initiatives
- Creating clear member communications, guidance and FAQs
- Supporting governance and safeguarding teams with routine administration.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who understands the importance of delivering an excellent member experience and enjoys helping people find solutions.
You will ideally have experience delivering high-quality customer service, particularly within a membership, sport, charity or community environment, alongside confidence communicating with people through a range of channels. Experience using CRM or membership management systems would be valuable, with Sport:80 or a similar platform advantageous.
You will need strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organisation and attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing enquiries while following issues through to resolution.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is approachable, collaborative, solution-focused and committed to continuous improvement, with a genuine understanding of the needs of members and clubs.
Help us support the British Taekwondo community
This is an opportunity to join a team that works closely with clubs and members across the country and plays a direct role in helping people access and enjoy Taekwondo.
