British Taekwondo members are invited to attend a dedicated Para Taekwondo MNA Development Workshop, delivered by senior World Taekwondo leadership at Lee Valley Athletic Centre, London on Wednesday 29th April.
This is a rare opportunity to gain direct insight from the people shaping Para Taekwondo globally, and to strengthen our national pathway across coaching, classification, and event delivery.
The workshop will cover a number of areas in the Para landscape, including:
- What Para Taekwondo is — and how it differs structurally and competitively
- Athlete eligibility and the full classification pathway
- A practical walkthrough of the classification room process
- How to set up and manage classification nationally
- Biological and psychological considerations when coaching Para athletes
- Required documentation and the updated World Taekwondo Classification System (WTCS) format
- Paralympic qualification processes and ranking bylaws
- Operational checklists for delivering Para events properly
This is not just theory, there will be practical sessions built in to the day, leaving you with clear, usable knowledge.
The workshop will be delivered by World Taekwondo Leadership
- Mr Usman Dildar – Chair, World Taekwondo Para Committee
- Dr Hadwah Moawad – Head of Classification, World Taekwondo Para
- Ms Kristina Khafizova – World Taekwondo Para
You will have direct access to the decision-makers responsible for Para governance, classification standards, and event systems worldwide.
This session is open to coaches at club or national level, event organisers, medical and classification personnel, or anyone interested in developing Para Taekwondo within British Taekwondo.
We encourage you to come along to this informative session to gain insight into the world of Para Taekwondo.
