Details of British Taekwondo’s Summer Activity Programme.

British Taekwondo are working with several Holiday Activity Fund providers to create Taekwondo events in and around Manchester.

Over the course of the summer, British Taekwondo has been working with a number of HAF providers to offer Taekwondo sessions to children attending their camps. These events are spread across North and South Manchester, as well as boroughs of Greater Manchester including several in Stockport.

Sophie Jameson, Manchester Development Officer said “We have had really positive responses from British Taekwondo Instructors delivering the sessions, and the organisations and their participants. We hope to build on this to develop strong partnerships with physical activity providers across Manchester and work together to offer people in every community the chance to take part in Taekwondo.”

Sophie added “With the World Taekwondo Grand Prix Final being held at Manchester Regional Arena in December we will be looking to continue in our delivery of taster sessions throughout the summer and into the autumn to raise the excitement for this amazing event!”

A big thank you goes to Ashton Parchment from AP Taekwondo Academy in Gorton, Liam Foran from Taekwondo Academy Stockport in Hazel Grove, and Leyla Palser, who has previously been in the GB Development Programme, who have all been supporting our aims to make Taekwondo more accessible to the communities in and around Manchester by delivering these exciting sessions to young people.

Many thanks to the HAF providers – Active Kids Education, Primary Sports Coaching Limited, Communities4all, TeamMCR and GLL – for their work on the summer activity programmes.
