An update from the British representatives at the 2024 Mungyeong World Taekwondo Hanmadang in Korea.

British Taekwondo members Master Kambiz R. Ali, Master Juan Flores, Master Amir Amiri, Master Carolina Barros Clark and Aaron Leith have returned from Mungyeong, South Korea where they had competed at the 2024 World Taekwondo Hanmadang.

Harrogate KTA (GBR) took part in a wide array of different Taekwondo contests at the event.

The team members participated in several different events over a five-day period and were successful in securing a total of 4 medal positions for Great Britain in the competition (1 Silver & 3 Bronze).

Team KTA Harrogate GBR Results:

Master Kambiz Ramzan Ali

  • Reached the Final in the Senior IV Male Fist Break contest and placed 2nd winning a Silver medal.
    Reached the Semi Final in the Senior Team Poomsae contest and placed 3rd winning a Bronze medal.
    Competed in the Senior IV Individual Male Poomsae contest and performed exceptionally to reach the Quarter Finals.

Aaron Leith:

  • Competed in the Senior II Individual Male Poomsae contest and performed exceptionally to reach the Quarter Finals.
    Competed in the Senior High Jump Kick contest making an excellent attempt at 240cm and placing 4th in the overall rankings.

Master Carolina Barros Clark:

  • Competed in the Senior IV Female Fist Break contest and placed 3rd winning a Bronze medal.
    Reached the Semi Final in the Senior Team Poomsae contest and placed 3rd winning a Bronze medal.

Master Amir Amiri:

  • Competed in the Senior Long Jump Kick contest, breaking a record 380cm in the contest and placing 4th in the overall rankings.
