Players from British Taekwondo’s GB National Poomsae Squad have been selected to compete in the Muju Taekwondowon Online 2022 World Taekwondo Poomsae Open Challenge I.

The Muju Taekwondowon Online 2022 World Taekwondo Poomsae Open Challenge I is the first event in the World Taekwondo Poomsae Open Challenge series and will take place through March and April.

The event will see players compete in their home countries with video clips of their activities uploaded to the event website for official judging and scoring.
Players selected to represent GB are:

  • Emily Hoang (U30 Female) – Nomad
  • Sheena Au Yeung (U40 Female) – Arumchan
  • Lyndzie Jeffries (U50 Female) – Granite City
  • Simon Smith (U50 Male) – Premierki
  • Colin Larkin (U65 Male) – Fighting Spirit
  • Katie Vaughan (U30 Freestyle) – Jem

The player selection took place on Sunday 27th February.

Those members of the squad not successful in the selection will go forward to take part in the open event of the competition where other cadets and juniors from the national squad will also take part.

Later in the year there will be additional categories for the cadets and juniors to try for selection for the national team event. There is a cash prize for the gold medal winner.
