National Poomsae Championships – Event Update
The National Poomsae Championships is almost upon us with the deadline for entries approaching, so please get your final entries submitted.
We’ve had a great response so far and are looking forward to an excellent weekend of Poomsae.
A few questions have come in about the event that people have asked us to clarify, so please see below:
- K1 category athletes cannot compete in Day 1 Dan individual, team or pair categories – so please ensure no K class athletes are entered on the Dan day.
- K category athletes must only compete in their actual grade K category, including teams and pairs
(e.g.: K3 cannot compete in K2 divisions including pairs and teams). - Athletes can only enter one recognised pair and team (plus a family division if meeting the criteria).
- We will permit replacement/substitute athletes in pairs and teams on the day due to sickness. This will only be permitted with an athlete of the same grade and age category and who is not already competing in another pair or team.
- Athletes do not need a spectator ticket for the day when they are not competing (they can come into the venue to watch with the wristband they were given to compete).

For athletes wishing to enter the trial family division
We have been advised by a few people that the entry system is not allowing additional family entries if athletes are already entered in a recognised team or pair.
The solution to this is to insert (Fam) after the name as an extension.
For example
- John Smith(Fam)
- Jane Smith(Fam)
- Jo Smith(Fam)
The system will then recognise the entry and allow you to enter any additional family entries.
If there are any issues with this process, please send an email to events@britishtaekwondo.org and we will resolve manually.
We look forward to seeing everyone in Worcester in a few weeks’ time.
