Master Kambiz Ramzan Ali MBE continued his programme of cultural and educational meetings in South Korea with a visit involving senior academics from Sejong University.

Master Ramzan Ali met Professor Kang Deok-mo, Chair Professor in the Department of Sports Industry at Sejong University’s Graduate School of Industry, and Professor Lee Jung-il to discuss cooperation between South Korea and the United Kingdom in sport, education and the global sports industry.

The meeting followed Master Ramzan Ali’s participation in the Chuncheon 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, where he represented Great Britain as a World Taekwondo International Poomsae Referee.

During the meeting, Master Ramzan Ali presented official Letters of Commendation from Councillor Viv Poskitt, Mayor of Harrogate, and Tom Gordon MP, Member of Parliament for Harrogate and Knaresborough.

The commendations recognised the professors’ contributions to education, international cooperation and the development of positive sporting and cultural relationships between South Korea and the United Kingdom.

Discussions focused on collaborative sports-industry research, academic exchanges between universities and the development of cultural and commercial projects connecting traditional martial arts with the modern sports sector.

The participants also explored opportunities to establish international internships, education and training programmes to support the next generation of sports administrators, researchers and industry professionals.

Particular attention was given to creating projects that connect Taekwondo’s Korean culture and heritage with contemporary sports business, education and international development.
