On the back of two very successful British Taekwondo National Championships, I want to say a massive thank all the clubs, coaches, instructors, athletes, and supporters for making the events the success they were.

Both the Kyorugi and Poomsae events were really well supported and you could see the dedication and hard training that had gone in.

It was also brilliant to see so many new faces in Sheffield & Worcester, experiencing our big British Taekwondo events for the first time and the buzz you get from them and being part of something.

What’s also amazing is the support we receive from our referees & judges with a record turn out this year across both competition disciplines and you can clearly see the progress our referee departments are making in providing opportunities for more and more people.

It’s also astounding and humbling that over 30 overseas international referees came to our National Championship events, many from Europe and a few from even further afield, like the USA! It’s an excellent indication and thumbs up for the quality and friendliness of our British Taekwondo events that people come this far to be a part of our championships.

British Taekwondo National Poomsae Championships 2023

As the British Taekwondo family of clubs grows we want to expand into doing more events and offering new innovative participation opportunities, particularly for our Martial Arts loving members. Please do watch this space!

Already looking ahead to 2024 and a bumper year of British Taekwondo domestic and international events – and the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games are just around the corner too.

But before all that, we’ve got the World Taekwondo Grand Prix Final in Manchester at the beginning of December!!! This is the chance to see our combat sport stars clinch those places in the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Please come along and support our GB team, we don’t know how lucky we are to have them and an event like this on our doorstep.
