Kambiz Ali Said Khelwatty 1600 Istnabul

British Taekwondo representatives Dr Said Khelwatty and Master Kambiz R. Ali MBE recently attended the World Taekwondo Technical Delegate (TD) Education Programme and Refresher Courses held in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 26–27 May 2026.

The international educational event was hosted by the Turkish Taekwondo Federation in cooperation with the World Taekwondo Development & Education Department (D&E) and brought together officials and senior Taekwondo representatives from across Europe, Asia, Africa, and other regions of the world.

Dr Said Khelwatty attended the Refresher Seminar, continuing his contribution to international Taekwondo event operations and officiating development. Master Kambiz R. Ali MBE participated in the Technical Delegate Certification Session as part of his ongoing development within the World Taekwondo technical and competition management structure.

The comprehensive programme covered a wide range of topics relating to international event delivery and management. Sessions included Technical Delegate roles and responsibilities, operational requirements for WT events, referee management and coordination, competition management systems, Para Taekwondo operations, event evaluation, ranking and seeding principles, and overall championship organisation.

The educational programme was delivered by senior World Taekwondo officials and educators including Philippe Bouedo, Chair of the WT Technical Commission and representative of the Development & Education Department (D&E), Mohamed Shaaban, Chair of the WT Games Committee, and Usman Dildar, Chair of the WT Para Taekwondo Committee. Their presentations provided participants with valuable insight into the latest international standards, operational procedures, and best practices used at WT-sanctioned competitions and multi-sport events.

A large number of delegates attended the seminar, reflecting the continued growth and professionalism of the global Taekwondo community. The event also created an important platform for networking, collaboration, and the exchange of knowledge between national federations and international officials.

We congratulate both Dr Said Khelwatty and Master Kambiz R. Ali MBE for representing British Taekwondo at this important World Taekwondo educational event, and for their continued commitment to supporting the development of Taekwondo internationally.
