Master Kambiz Ramzan Ali MBE visited Sellings Korea and Isu Global Academy to learn more about the latest developments in Korean sports-health technology.
The meeting was attended by Jang-woo Lee, CEO of Sellings Korea; Jung-il Lee, Chief Strategy Officer; and Jin-wook Oh, President of the Korean American Sports Association of Boston.
During the visit, Master Ramzan Ali personally experienced an advanced 720-degree body scanner and was introduced to a range of electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) equipment.
Discussions explored how the technology could support sports-science research, athlete assessment, posture analysis, training and physical development. Its potential use within university sports departments and research programmes was also considered.
Master Ramzan Ali presented CEO Jang-woo Lee with official Letters of Commendation from Councillor Viv Poskitt, Mayor of Harrogate, and Tom Gordon MP, Member of Parliament for Harrogate and Knaresborough.
The letters recognised his work in innovation and international cooperation and marked the growing relationship between South Korea, Harrogate and the wider United Kingdom.
Master Ramzan Ali said: “It was fascinating to experience this technology personally and see the level of information the scanner can provide.
“I believe there could be positive opportunities for sports research and athlete development. I look forward to further meetings with universities, researchers and technical specialists to explore its potential in the UK and Europe.”
The meeting also considered future cooperation connecting South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States through sports-health education, research and business development.
As part of any future introduction to Britain or European countries, the partners will explore the appropriate CE and UKCA routes and work towards meeting the relevant safety and technical requirements.
The visit opened the door to further discussions about bringing Korean innovation together with British and European expertise in sport, research and athlete development.
