British Taekwondo recently shared the story of Apex Taekwondo, a Greater Manchester club that found itself without a permanent home after being forced to leave the venue it had called home for more than a decade.
The club’s experience highlighted the strength of the Taekwondo community, with clubs and coaches from across the region stepping forward to offer training space and support while Apex worked to keep its members training during a challenging period.
Now, Apex is taking the next step in its journey, working hard to get its new club venue up and running and has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help meet the costs involved in establishing its new home.
As a community-run club, Apex is doing everything it can to prepare the new space itself, but creating a suitable training environment comes with significant costs. The club is now asking for support from the wider Taekwondo community and beyond to help with those expenses.
Every donation, no matter how large or small, can contribute towards helping Apex establish a permanent space where its members can continue to train and develop.
For those who are unable to donate, there is another simple way to help: share the crowdfunding campaign with family, friends, other clubs, WhatsApp groups or across social media. Every share can help the campaign reach someone who may be able to contribute.
For Apex Taekwondo, it will provide a place where children and athletes can develop their Taekwondo, build confidence, form friendships and continue pursuing their goals in a safe and supportive environment. After the uncertainty the club has experienced, establishing that sense of stability will be an important step forward.
The response from the British Taekwondo community throughout Apex’s difficulties has already demonstrated what can be achieved when clubs support one another. Now, as Apex works to create its next chapter, the club is once again asking that community to stand alongside it.
Every donation, every share and every message of support can help Apex move closer to establishing its new home.
