British Taekwondo member referees officiate at the Sweden Open Poomsae in Stockholm.

Congratulations to the five UK Poomsae International Referees who were invited to officiate at ‘The 2023 Swedish G1’ in Stockholm on Sunday 30th April which was hosted by the Swedish Taekwondo Union.

The International Referees (IRs), namely Masters Glen Culbert, Kambiz Ali, Damian Duffy, Carolina Barros Clarke, and Bilal Naqshbandi travelled over the weekend to serve as officials at this G1 World Taekwondo-sanctioned event.

They professionally managed 300 competitors across the five-ring event from 8am to 8pm, along with international referees from all over the world. The referees used a single elimination/cut-off system to process individuals, pairs, teams, and freestyle competitors, which was a rewarding experience.

The team of UK referees eagerly anticipate more invitations worldwide to support the Taekwondo community and bring their experience and knowledge back home to share.
