Three British Taekwondo members have newly qualified as International Poomsae Referees.
Congratulations to Gerry Reilly, Carolina Barros Clark, and Kambiz R. Ali for successfully passing the International Poomsae Referee course in Paris.
The three highly renowned British Taekwondo Poomsae referees recently attended the course, led GM Mustapha Moutarazak and Professor Kwak Taek-Yong. The course included two days of technical training at the end of October, followed by a three day detailed seminar and assessment from the 31st October to 2nd November 2022.
Ian Leafe, Chief Executive of British Taekwondo, said “Gerry, Carolina, and Kambiz are all extremely experienced and accomplished Taekwondo practitioners and referees, their achievement in Paris is a testament to their dedication and expertise in poomsae.”
“As International Referees, they will have the opportunity to officiate at the highest level of competition & will no doubt pass on their knowledge to up and coming UK referees too!”
“Importantly this will be key in supporting the further development of the poomsae referee community in the UK and allow the continued expansion of competition which saw our largest ever events last year.”

From l-r Kambiz R. Ali, Mustapha Moutarazak, Carolina Barros Clark, Gerry Reilly, and Professor Kwak Taek-Yong
Everyone at British Taekwondo would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Gerry, Carolina, and Kambiz on this outstanding achievement and wish them all the best in their future endeavours as International Taekwondo Poomsae referees. Their success is a great inspiration for all Taekwondo practitioners and referees, and we look forward to seeing them in action at the highest level of competition.
