The World Anti-Doping Agency [WADA] are funding a project led by the University of Birmingham, which explores athlete knowledge of anti-doping education.
They are offering British Taekwondo athletes aged 14+ who compete at a regional, national, and/or international level to consider completing a 10-minute online confidential survey about their anti-doping knowledge. By participating, you’ll have the opportunity to enter a prize draw for a chance to win Amazon vouchers worth either £50 or £100.
Due to GDPR regulations, for adolescent athletes aged 14–16, parents/guardians must be the point of contact and will be required to authorise their child’s participation by allowing them access to the survey link. Athletes aged 17 or older have the autonomy to access the link independently, without requiring parental consent.
If you’d like to learn more before deciding whether to take part, please open the corresponding link below. This will take you to an online participant information sheet. We recommend reading through this document before making a decision. If you’re happy for your child to participate, they can use the same link to access the information sheet, followed by a consent form and the survey itself. Please note that the consent form must be completed before access to the survey can be granted.
When completing the survey, please ensure it’s done independently and without input from others.
Please note that participation in the study is voluntary, and athletes are free to withdraw at any time. If they withdraw after submitting data, please inform the lead researcher, Dr Barnaby Zoob Carter, so he can delete your child’s data.
If you require any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact Dr Zoob Carter, who will be happy to answer any questions about the project.
Please note: The deadline for responses is Saturday 31st January 2026.
