Report from a recent Taekwondo Grading in Harrogate.

7th Dan Taekwondo Master and Harrogate KTA Founder Kambiz R Ali recently held a Taekwondo Grading at Jennyfield Styan Community Centre in Harrogate.
Students from the Harrogate Taekwondo Academy had the opportunity to test and display the Taekwondo skills and abilities they had learned to a panel of examiners with the goal of earning a new belt and grade.

Master Kambiz was joined on the panel by his club examiners 4th Dan Black Belt Martin Squires and 3rd Dan Black Belt Douglas Baston for the event held on Tuesday 15th March 2022.
The students that took part in this grading were newcomers to the martial art of Taekwondo and most of them were 5 or 6 years old. Not only did they perform exceptionally well but they also did so in the presence of the Harrogate Mayor and Mayoress.

The grading was a new challenge for all those taking part, as this was the first time any of the students at the Harrogate KTA Jennyfield Taekwondo class had taken a belt promotion test before, so the pressure was certainly on.
A very proud Master Kambiz said “It’s occasions like these that we really strive for, to see students so young challenging themselves and achieving excellence, and to also do so with the honour of having the Mayor and Mayoress of Harrogate with us to see them perform, makes this success just that bit more special. Well done to all my students who passed their grading. I’m sure their parents and siblings are just as proud of them as I am.”
The Academy and its members were also delighted to welcome the Harrogate Mayor and Mayoress to watch the event and award those successful with their new belt and certificate. Despite the high pressure, the students performed tremendously well, and the club saw nine of its members go on to achieve their new belts. Harrogate Taekwondo Students Ethan Gaffney, Corey Butterfield and Edward Paskin achieved their new White, Yellow Stripe Belts and Daniel Dawson, Rocco Oliver, Cohen Mason, Carver Dawson Riley McGregor, and James Paskin achieved their White, Black Stripe Belts
