From starting Taekwondo just over a year ago to becoming a British Taekwondo 2022 National Sport Champion in his weight category, Matthew has well and truly been bitten by the Taekwondo bug.

Matthew Jones was just 5 years old when he started Taekwondo in 2021. His love of the Karate inspired Matthew to take up a martial art. After chatting to a new friend, Matthew’s mum Natalie found a gym 30 minutes from where they lived where Matthew could start his martial arts journey. After getting in contact and having a look round the Taekwondo club they didn’t think twice about joining BTS North and they have not looked back.

Matthew developed an instant love, dedication, and commitment for Taekwondo and 12 months later, at 6 years old, he entered the British Taekwondo National Sport Championships at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield in September.
