With just days to go until the 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, excitement is building as the British Taekwondo Poomsae Team prepares to take to the mats in Chuncheon from 16–20 September.
For the British athletes selected to represent their country, this will be a very special championship, as they get the chance to compete on the world stage in Korea, the homeland of Taekwondo, and alongside the very best Poomsae athletes from around the globe.
The British Team will be heading out to Chuncheon in the coming days, ready to put the preparation, dedication and countless hours of training into action when competition begins at the Songam Sports Town Air Dome.
Five days of world-class Poomsae
The Championships officially run from Wednesday 16 September through to Sunday 20 September, with competition taking place throughout the five days.
The official schedule features a packed programme of Recognised Poomsae, Freestyle Poomsae, Individual, Pair, Team and Mixed Team events, spanning Cadet, Junior, Under 30, Under 40, Under 50, Under 60, Under 65 and Over 65 age divisions.

British Taekwondo is also incredibly proud to congratulate Master Kambiz R. Ali MBE and Carolina Barros Clark on their selection as referees for the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships.
Representing Great Britain on the world stage is an incredible achievement and a just reward for the passion, knowledge and countless hours they have dedicated to our Martial Art over many years.
This prestigious appointment is a fitting recognition of their outstanding dedication, professionalism and expertise, and reflects the immense respect they have earned within both the British and international Taekwondo communities.
We wish every member of the British Team the very best as they make their final preparations and travel to Chuncheon. We will be following their progress throughout the Championships and celebrating their performances on the world stage.
