Open call for the Para-Poomsae Performance Pathway.

British Taekwondo’s Poomsae Performance Department is holding a Para-Poomsae open opportunity event in Manchester in July.

The Poomsae Performance Department is inviting current and prospective athletes to a Para-Poomsae Performance Pathway open opportunity at the National Taekwondo Centre in Manchester on Sunday 16th July.

This open opportunity gives current athletes the chance to show coaches their progression since joining the squad and provides them the chance to perform for a place at the World Championships, if eligible.

Annie Rogan, British Taekwondo’s Disability Development Officer is co-ordinating the event alongside the Poomsae Performance Department’s team and said, “The open opportunity at the National Taekwondo Centre in Manchester will be a superb opportunity for new and potential members of the GB Para-Poomsae Squad to meet and train together.”

“The Para Poomsae World Championships in Mexican are fast approaching, and this is an athletes’ chance to qualify for this World Championships if they are eligible. They could be ready to compete at worlds, even if they’ve never been on the squad before!”

For prospective athletes the open call is the chance for them to show the coaches their ability with the potential to join the Para-Poomsae Performance squad, have access to high quality coaching and support and have future opportunities to represent Great Britain.

The event is open to all eligible British Taekwondo members.

Attendees to the open opportunity will meet the performance coaches, have an opportunity to try out for the squad and meet other athletes.

GB Para Performance Coaches, British Taekwondo staff, fellow Para athletes and Para Poomsae Performance pathway squad members will be in attendance at the event and will be happy to answer questions about the event, the pathway, and future opportunities.
