Guy Chatel 16000

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Master Guy Châtel, 6th Dan, Chief Instructor of Carlton-Arena Taekwondo.

Master Châtel dedicated decades of his life to Taekwondo and alongside his wife Norma, he took over the Carlton Taekwondo Club in 1995. Under their leadership, the club flourished, expanding to multiple venues and became a cornerstone of Martial Arts training in the Nottingham area.

His passion and commitment to Taekwondo helped shape the lives of thousands of students and produced hundreds of Black Belts, and he was a mentor and a friend to many. His daughters, Sophie and Natalie, followed in his footsteps, continuing the family’s dedication to our Martial Art.

On behalf of everyone at British Taekwondo, we extend our deepest sympathy to the Chatel family and the extended Taekwondo community who knew him.

His legacy will live on in every student, every lesson passed down, and every life he touched through the years.
