Amateur athletes and sports clubs across Ireland can apply for the Kingspan Kickstart Sports Fund, designed to support aspiring athletes in achieving their goals. The fund runs quarterly, and offers financial assistance for essential needs such as equipment, training, and other resources.
The Micro Community Investment Fund, delivered by the Community Foundation, offers grants of up to £1,500 to help local projects improve financial, physical, and mental wellbeing. The fund is designed for smaller not-for-profit and community groups delivering work at a local level.
The Belfast City Community Award offers up to £5,000 for a number of initiatives linked to sport, including coach mentoring and outreach programmes. Smaller grants can also be offered, with a maximum offering of £1,500 for eligible clubs, with 80% up front, and 20% on providing end-of-event report
The Be Active Support for Sport is a small grants programme primarily aimed at grassroots sports. The programme aims to prioritise investment in sports clubs, especially those based in areas of greatest need that will deliver demonstrable increases in sports participation amongst identified target groups.
Sported are one of the leading Sport for Development charities in the UK, helping almost 5,000 community sport and youth groups thrive, with 45% being in deprived areas of the UK. They have provided a wide database of information on initiatives and funding based in Northern Ireland.
