The British Taekwondo staff team recently ‘had a go’ at Taekwondo.

The British Taekwondo staff team have a mix of sport, leisure and recreation backgrounds outside of work – with some of the team having experience of Taekwondo, while others have not tried it before.

To give the group a taste of the Martial Art, Poomsae, and the Combat Sport Richard G, Dafydd, Karen, Sarah, Matt, Annie, Sophie, Vicki, Neil, Henry and Richard B took to the mats at the GB Taekwondo National Centre for an afternoon of instruction from Grand Master Ian Leafe.

After warming up the group were taken through the basics of the Martial Art, including stances, kicks and blocks. They then moved on to Poomsae, attempting two patterns (with mixed results!), before moving onto some ‘gentle’ sparring – and a meeting with BOB.

The feedback from the group was very positive, and it’s something the team are keen to do again. With many different muscles being worked during the session it was also memorable for the rest of the week too!
