A report from the recent Conflict Management and Self Defence Seminar in Llantwit Major.
A Conflict Management and Self Defence Seminar was held at the Venue CF61 Centre in Llantwit Major on Sunday 30th July.
The event was organised by Master Paul Jones 6th Dan, Chief Instructor and Head Coach of Llantwit Major and Wales Taekwondo. The session was open to British Taekwondo members and covered the legalities of force, conflict management, striking, ground work, defence of strikes, and some knife work.
Attendees at the seminar travelled from as far away as Leeds and Southampton.
Commenting on the seminar Master Paul Jones said “Self defence is a complex problem. What we must try and do is simplify what we train. Testing it, optimising techniques, legitimising your responses, knowing the legalities. As well as adrenaline affects, situations, and avoidance.”
Paul added “Anyone who has taken part in my seminars knows how passionate I am about it. I have taken seminars all over the country and the feedback speaks for itself. I am available if you would like to have a seminar for your association. Thanks to all who came to this seminar. The next one will be held at a bigger location to facilitate those who couldn’t get in this time. Diolch yn fawr.”
