British Taekwondo is excited to host a day of Workshops on Saturday 22nd November, bringing together members from across the country to celebrate progress, share updates, and look ahead to an exciting year.

Whether you’re joining us in person at the National Taekwondo Centre in Manchester or attending online, this event is designed to give insight into the work happening across all areas of the organisation – and how it benefits our clubs, coaches, athletes, referees, and wider community.

Membership & Engagement: Strengthening Our Community

The Membership and Engagement Team will share updates on how British Taekwondo is modernising member experience and supporting long-term growth. Highlights include:

  • The ongoing rollout and enhancement of the Sport:80 My Club Hub system, designed to streamline club management and improve the member journey

  • Updates on membership numbers, including year-on-year growth and club engagement

  • Innovations planned for 2026, including new digital tools, improved communication channels, and further upgrades to My Club Hub to member services to ensure a smooth, accessible experience for everyone

This session will look at how enhanced systems, data insights, and digital transformation are helping strengthen connections across the British Taekwondo community.


A Record-Breaking Year for Events

Head of Events Matt Marshall will look back at a landmark year for British Taekwondo National Events. Focusing on:

  • A record year of participation and delivery across all national competitions

  • The success of the 2025 British International Open and how it continues to develop

  • The successful pilot of Bodyshot Events and their introduction into our national calendar

  • An update on our work with the BUCS, and how we are progressing in the university sport scene
  • More exciting additions planned for the 2026 Events Calendar

This session will give members a unique insight into how our events continue to grow in scale, profile, and quality.


Development Team: Growing Clubs, Growing Communities

The Development Team will share updates on several key projects shaping the future of participation across the UK, including:

  • Progress on the Kick For Change and Tots Taekwondo initiatives

  • The launch of the new Club Resource Hub, designed to give clubs the tools, guidance, and support they need to thrive

  • A focus on Equity, Equality, Diversion and Inclusion, and the work British Taekwondo does to continue to make Taekwondo a sport that is accessible to all
  • An update on the Community Safety Project, set to be a major focus throughout 2026

  • Development work in Manchester and London, and the progress we have made in two of the UK’s largest cities

These developments highlight our long-term commitment to supporting clubs and creating safe, accessible environments for all.

Shape the Future 2

Education & Technical Products: Strengthening Coach Development

Our Technical Products and Education Team will present updates on major advancements in learning and coaching quality:

  • The formation of the Education Advisory Group, created to help shape future education standards

  • The introduction of new Learning Management Systems to enhance the experience when completing the Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Taekwondo

These innovations reflect our dedication to supporting coaches with high-quality, modern learning pathways.


Performance Updates: Kyorugi & Poomsae

Both Performance Departments have had a standout year, and attendees will get a first look at what comes next.

Kyorugi Performance Team

The team will share updates on:

  • Participation growth across the past 12 months
  • The newly accepted 2025/26 Elite Squad cohort

  • British Taekwondo squad performances at Major international events

  • Exciting plans to continue strengthening athlete pathways over the next 12 months

Master Kambiz Ali Poomsae

Poomsae Performance Team

Following an exceptional year, the Poomsae Team will highlight:

  • A record-breaking performance at the 2025 European Poomsae Championships

  • Preparations for the upcoming Inter-Regional Championships

  • Plans for the London International Poomsae Championships in May 2026, expected to attract world-class international competitors


Referee Department Celebrations

Our Referee Departments will also be presenting an overview of an incredibly successful year.

Poomsae Referees

  • Strong representation at international events around the world

  • Expansion of training opportunities across the UK

  • A year that has further cemented the UK’s reputation for high standards in officiating

Kyorugi Referees

  • A successful year for referee performances both across the UK and internationally

  • Referee education and development pathways, with several now well on their way to international qualification

  • Continued progress in building a robust, well-trained workforce of officials
