Usman Dildar, Vice President
I am full of passion and dedication to the world of Taekwondo. From my early days as an international gold medalist, I have crossed the realms of this martial art, evolving into a multifaceted individual with roles ranging from athlete to coach, referee, technical official and now Vice President of British Taekwondo.
My journey through Taekwondo has been a comprehensive exploration, delving into its grassroots and ascending to the highest stages of international competition. My involvement spans from organising and executing events at club level to contributing significantly to Continental, World, and Olympic stages, including Beijing 2008, London 2012, and the historic debut of Para Taekwondo at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
My strategic influence extends globally, as seen in my roles as the Chair of World Para Taekwondo, Technical Director of the European Taekwondo Union, and memberships in the Technical Commission and Member Relation and Development (MRD) Commission of World Taekwondo. I also serve as a member of the Advisory Committee of Kukkiwon, the World Taekwondo Headquarters.
Over the past three decades I have played an instrumental role in the development of Taekwondo within British Taekwondo. This includes the establishment of the London Taekwondo Academy in 1994, a training ground that has not only produced world-class athletes but has also nurtured exceptional Masters and instructors within the British Taekwondo community.
In education, I have been recognised as an accomplished educator, taking immense pride in imparting my knowledge through various courses tailored for international referees, technical delegates, and coaches in both Taekwondo and Para Taekwondo.
I am privileged to have helped pave the way for many coaches and officials from British Taekwondo to attain prominent standing positions both in Europe and World Taekwondo.
