British Taekwondo is delighted to confirm the return of the British International Open in 2026, with the flagship event scheduled for Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April 2026 at Manchester's iconic National Cycling Centre, in partnership with Manchester Active and GB Taekwondo. 

Following on from the success of 2025, this G-1 event welcomes hundreds of athletes from across the globe to compete in World Taekwondo–sanctioned divisions, with some of the World's biggest names set to return to Manchester once again in 2026. 

Athletes aged under 18 will compete in the Junior & Cadet age groups across ten different weight categories, and will be hoping to earn important European ranking points. A schedule of events for the weekend's action is as follows:

This event is made possible by continued collaboration with Manchester City Council and Manchester Active, as well as GB Taekwondo whose unwavering support underpins the National Taekwondo Centre's role in attracting global competition to the city.

British athletes will be looking to build on the great success from the 2025 competition, with 15 medals across the senior divisions, as well as two golds in the Para competitions, while a number of homegrown stars shone in the Juniors and Cadets events.  

After the success of the previous showcasing of the event, we are delighted to bring some of the finest Taekwondo talent in the World back to Manchester in 2026.
