A report from the recent All Classes Referee Course held at Central Taekwondo Academy in Falkirk in Scotland.

British Taekwondo’s Poomsae Referee Department hosted a successful All Classes Referee course at Central Academy in Falkirk on Sunday March 3rd. The referee training event saw the participation of 16 dedicated candidates. The course was led by GM Bailey and focused on a new approach to presentation scoring, which was well received by all attendees.

The emphasis on this new approach scoring method was evident during scoring practice sessions and tests, showcasing the commitment of the candidates to learn and adapt to Poomsae rules.

Exciting news awaits as some of the newly trained Scottish Class 3 referees are attending the upcoming 4th Lanarkshire Open Championships on Saturday 9th March. This event marks a significant milestone as the entire Scottish referee team will consist of Scottish officials, highlighting the growth and development of referees in the region.

Upcoming Poomsae courses and seminars

British Taekwondo’s Poomsae Referee Department will be holding an All Classes British Taekwondo National Poomsae Referee Course at Woodhall Community Centre, Mill Green Road, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire AL7 3XD on Sunday 10th March. The event will take place between 9am and 4.30pm.

British Taekwondo’s Poomsae Performance Department is pleased to confirm that GB High Performance Coach, Master Chan Sau will again be supporting the development of Poomsae in Wales alongside Regional Coaches Alan Lee and Bjorn Brunswick.
