A report from a successful first day of the European Poomsae Championships in Innsbruck, Austria.
Reporting by Chan Sau, one of the five GB team coaches at the event.
It was a day which marked the first time Poomsae and Para-Poomsae had come together on the European stage, and it was wonderful to have our Great Britain Poomsae and Para-Poomsae teams together for the first time.

Everyone involved is immensely proud of our Para-Poomsae athletes whose six medals secured Great Britain an overall 3rd Place ranking at the inaugural European Para-Poomsae Championships.
- Bradley Brockies (Polaris) – Gold
- Summer Waheed (NTC) – Gold
- Jane Bedford (NTC) – Gold
- Ben Savage (Unite) – Silver
- Gabrielle Toas (Chi) – Silver
- Kelvin Lowe (Cumbria) – Bronze
The first day of the three-day championships also saw our Poomsae athletes in action against the best in Europe and winning our first two medals:
- Wenqi Li (PremierKi) securing Silver in the Individual U50 Female category.
- Olivia McGeoch (Gajok) and Zaw Torley (Arumchan) taking Bronze in the U17 Pairs category.
A big shout out goes to our U30 Individual athletes Maximo Libid (PremierKi) and Natasha Wilson (Central), as well as U14 athletes Louis Exton (Nomad) and Cuba Wilson (NTC) who all put in amazing performances throughout the day but just missed out on the medals in their respective categories by the slimmest of margins.
