The Great Britain Poomsae Team has arrived in Chuncheon, Korea, with preparations now well underway ahead of the 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, which take place between September 16-20.
Having arrived last week, the team has spent the opening days of their time in Korea completing training sessions and settling into their surroundings as the athletes make their final preparations for one of the biggest events on the international Poomsae calendar.
The team has been warmly supported by the local Taekwondo community, with Kumho Taekwondo Academy and Take One Taekwondo opening their doors and providing access to their training facilities.
British Taekwondo would like to extend its thanks to both academies for their hospitality and for helping the Great Britain athletes prepare in Chuncheon ahead of the competition.
The team will also travel to Seoul as part of their preparations, where they will have the opportunity to train at Kukkiwon, the World Taekwondo Academy and a hugely significant location within the history and development of Taekwondo.
With the World Championships now just days away, the Great Britain athletes are entering the final stages of their preparation before stepping onto the international stage in the home of Taekwondo.
The 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships take place in Chuncheon from 16–20 September, bringing together the world’s leading Poomsae athletes for five days of competition.
British Taekwondo wishes the entire Great Britain Poomsae Team the very best as they complete their preparations in Korea and prepare to represent Great Britain with pride at the World Championships.
