A report from the 2024 World Taekwondo Hanmadang in Mungyeong, South Korea.
British Taekwondo members Master Kambiz R. Ali, Master Juan Flores, Master Amir Amiri, Master Carolina Barros Clark and Aaron Leith have been competing at the 2024 World Taekwondo Hanmadang in Mungyeong, South Korea.
The group, representing a team as Harrogate KTA (GBR), have travelled over to Mungyeong, South Korea where they they have been participating in the 2024 World Taekwondo Hanmadang in a wide array of different Taekwondo contests!
This year the team is being represented by Master Kambiz R. Ali, Master Juan Flores, Master Amir Amiri, Master Carolina Barros Clark and Aaron Leith. Over the first three days the team had some excellent success at the competition.
Results and updates from days 1, 2 & 3 for team Harrogate KTA:
- Master Kambiz R. Ali placed 2nd to win a Silver Medal whilst participating in the Senior Male Fist Breaking final.
- Master Carolina Clark won a bronze medal in the Female Individual Poomsae and another in Knife Hand Breaking.
- Aaron Leith narrowly missed out on a medal position in the High Jump Kick event.
- Master Amir Amiri also narrowly missed out on a medal whilst competing in the Long Jump Kick event, but still performed exceptionally.
To round things off the team secured another Bronze medal in the Team Poomsae event, to secure a Bronze medal each for Master Kambiz, Master Juan and Master Carolina.
This gave the team a total overall of 1 Silver and 3 Bronze medal positions in the first three days.
Aaron Leith also represented Great Britain at the event’s opening ceremony.
