British Taekwondo is proud to recognise Master Carolina Barros Clark, who represented Great Britain as an International Referee (IR) at two prestigious World Taekwondo events in South Korea: the World Taekwondo Demonstration & Breaking Championships in Daegu and the Gangwon-Chuncheon 2026 World Taekwondo Demonstration & Breaking Championships.

Carolina was selected by World Taekwondo to officiate at both events, joining an of a group of international referees responsible for maintaining the highest standards of judging, fairness, and professionalism throughout the competitions.

Held in the home of Taekwondo, the championships brought together the world’s leading demonstration and breaking athletes, showcasing extraordinary displays of athleticism, creativity, precision, and technical excellence. Competitors performed dynamic demonstration routines featuring synchronized techniques, acrobatic skills, and spectacular aerial breaking, while breaking specialists pushed the limits of power, speed, and accuracy.

Reflecting on the experience, Carolina stated: “The level of talent, dedication, and sportsmanship displayed by the athletes was exceptional, and I am proud to have contributed as an International Referee.

“Officiating at world-level events provides an incredible opportunity to work alongside colleagues from across the globe, exchange best practices, and support the continued growth of Taekwondo. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent Great Britain and contribute to the success of these championships.”

The 2026 World University Taekwondo Festival brought together student-athletes from universities around the world for two days of outstanding competition and international friendship at the Keimyung University Seongseo Campus Gymnasium in Daegu, Republic of Korea.

Held on 6–7 July 2026, the Fisu festival showcased a high standard of Poomsae competition while providing participants with a valuable opportunity to engage in cultural exchange and strengthen connections within the global university taekwondo community. The event created an inspiring environment where student-athletes could compete at an elite level while celebrating the spirit of international cooperation and friendship.

The Gangwon-Chuncheon 2026 World Taekwondo Demonstration & Breaking Championships, held at the Songam Sports Town Air Dome, provided a spectacular showcase of the continuing evolution of taekwondo demonstration and breaking disciplines. Athletes from around the world captivated spectators with innovative performances that highlighted both the traditional values and modern appeal of the sport.
