We would like to remind all members of the expectations regarding the use of social media in relation to British Taekwondo.

While we recognise that individuals may feel strongly about matters within the sport, concerns and feedback should always be raised through the appropriate internal channels, not via public platforms.

All members are expected to adhere to the British Taekwondo Code of Conduct, including:

  • Treating others with respect
  • Avoiding abusive, harassing, or personal comments
  • Refraining from behaviour that may harm individuals or the reputation of the organisation

British Taekwondo will not tolerate bullying or harassment in any form, including via social media. This includes behaviour that could bring the sport into disrepute

Public online activity can have a significant impact on the wider community, including athletes, volunteers, and staff. We ask all members to act responsibly and respectfully when engaging online.

British Taekwondo is committed to creating and maintaining an environment where everyone feels safe, valued, respected and supported. This commitment extends beyond our clubs, competitions and events, and includes all interactions that take place online and across social media platforms.

We expect all members of our community to uphold the values of respect, integrity and inclusion when engaging with others online. Behaviour that is intimidating, abusive, discriminatory, harassing or otherwise harmful has no place within our sport and can have a significant impact on the wellbeing of those involved.

All members have a shared responsibility to help create a positive and safe environment for athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and supporters. We therefore ask everyone to consider how they communicate online, to engage respectfully with others, and to refrain from content or behaviour that could undermine the safety, welfare or dignity of any individual.

British Taekwondo takes safeguarding seriously and will continue to promote a culture where concerns can be raised appropriately and where the welfare of all members remains paramount. By working together and demonstrating respect both in person and online, we can ensure that our community remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone.

Where behaviour falls short of expected standards, it may be reviewed in line with the Code of Conduct and disciplinary processes.

Thank you for your cooperation.
