As we approach the festive season, we'd like to wish all our members a joyful and restful time. While the holidays are a time for celebration and connection, it's also important to remember that safeguarding remains everyone's responsibility – even when classes pause.
Our offices will be closed from 19th December and will reopen on 5th January. During this period, we may not be immediately available. However, support is still accessible if you have a concern.

Top Tips for Safeguarding Over Christmas
The festive period can bring changes in routine, extra pressures at home, and different social environments. Here are some supportive reminders to help keep young people safe and well:
- Stay Connected
Check in regularly with young people, especially if they seem withdrawn or anxious. A simple conversation can make a big difference.
- Encourage Healthy Boundaries
Remind children that they can always say no to anything that makes them uncomfortable — in person or online.
- Be Aware of Online Safety
With more free time, many children spend longer online. Encourage:
- Device use in shared spaces
- Privacy settings
- Awareness of talking to strangers online
- Keep Communication Open
Let young people know they can come to you with any worry. Reassure them that it's always okay to speak up.
- Know Who to Contact
Whether it's the NSPCC or your Club Welfare Officer make sure contact numbers and links are easy to find.
- Look After Yourself Too
Parents, carers, and volunteers play a vital role. Taking care of your own wellbeing helps you provide the best support for others.
We wish you all a safe and Happy Christmas
