British Taekwondo will be holding a Martial Arts Seminar on Self Defence and Martial Science at the University of Birmingham Sport & Fitness Centre from 12pm to 6pm on Saturday 2nd July.
Martial Arts Seminar on Practical Taekwondo Self Defence
The event aims to grow your Martial Arts knowledge, spark new ideas and stretch yourself in a friendly training atmosphere.
The topics covered will include: 

  • Legal aspects of self defence
  • Situational awareness
  • Situational de-escalation
  • Criminal psychology
  • Martial arts science
  • Pressure points
  • Technique enhancements (players to the game)
  • Poomsae hidden application techniques
  • Realistic weapons defence

Did you know that Taekwondo contains striking, grappling, locks and holds, take downs, joint manipulations and pressure point work to disable and disarm an attacker (with and without weapons)?
This is the kick-off seminar of a series to help your future growth in knowledge and understanding of your training and achieve your full potential.
Specialist Master instructors are very experienced martial artists and include:

  • Master Paul Jones, 6th Dan, International Coach and International Self Defence Champion.
  • Master Steve Blomeley, 6th Dan, National champion.
  • Master Peter Holmes (external guest instructor) 6th Dan Karate Jitsu Dragon Society, 3rd Dan Tang Soo Do, Martial Arts Hall of Fame, together with Steve Lloyd, 6th Dan, 5th Dan kickboxing.

The seminar is the ideal opportunity to meet fellow high ranking Taekwondo practitioners whose primary interest are the Martial Arts aspects of Taekwondo.
Due to the nature of the topics covered, the seminar will be age restricted 13-17 years (Green belt and above) and all 18+ adults (any grade).
Attendance is £20 for the 6-hour event. The seminar will take place at Birmingham University and will be hosted by Ki Taekwondo Birmingham University.
