Highlights from the Practical Session of the Poomsae Referee Seminar and Refresher Course in Manchester.

British Taekwondo recently hosted the 54th International Poomsae Referee Seminar and the 51st International Poomsae Referee Refresher Course in Manchester.

The events took place from the 8th to the 12th February and saw 14 British Taekwondo members taking part.

Representing the UK at the 54th International Poomsae Referee Seminar were:

And the representatives at the 51st International Poomsae Referee Refresher Course were:

During the initial two days of training attendees engaged in practical work on Poomsae and a comprehensive review of the scoring criteria for each form. This part of the course was skillfully led by Jun Cheol Yoon, World Taekwondo Referee Chair, and Taek Young Kwak, World Taekwondo Poomsae Instructor & Professor at Yong-in University.

Notably, the World Taekwondo Education Department graciously opened this segment of the course to British Taekwondo National Referees, including Bianca Porcu, Chris Wood, Jack Durcan, Jenny Furness and Xin Li, helping to foster inclusivity and collaboration within our community.
