British Taekwondo are proud to support International Women’s day 2021 and will continue to support the amazing women and girls within our organisation!
Currently 25% of our coaching network and 38% of our members are females. Through our work with Sport England and the other home nation sports councils, and on the Equality Standards Framework, we aim to increase both figures in the coming years.
We want all of our female members to feel empowered and to be able to chase their dreams without feeling bound by social limitations and we are working hard to fight for gender equality within all areas of our domestic activity and international federation.
UK Sport Chair and BT President recently spoke at the World Taekwondo Gender Equity and Women Leadership forum.

World Taekwondo are leading the way with gender equality and had a gender balance in referees and athletes for the Rio 2016 Olympics, which they hope to achieve again for the Tokyo 2020 Games.
Creating an inclusive and mentally healthy environment for women is hugely important to us and we will continue to provide equality of opportunity for all.
