Mental Health Awareness Online Course (revised 27th Jan)

Over the past year we have rolled out a Safeguarding course and Welfare Officer Training. Throughout this time a number of you have asked for a course on mental health awareness, and therefore we wanted to let you all know about this amazing offer!

The charity Mind have put together an online course with UK Coaching, 1st4Sport and Sport England and are offering it at a 30% reduced cost of £12!

With 1 in 4 people in the UK experiencing a mental health problem each year (and this does not include those who have been impacted by the current pandemic), now is the time to develop your knowledge to better understand and be able to support people living with a mental health problem.

Mental Health Awareness for Sport & Physical Activity consists of 4 modules which will increase your knowledge and understanding of mental health, providing you with the practical skills and strategies to be able to:

  • build people’s resilience, self-esteem and confidence
  • adapt your sessions to make them more inclusive
  • enable and support mental health recovery, and
  • tackle stigma and discrimination.

So when we finally return to training in a physical environment it can be a positive experience for all encouraging repeated participation!

The course is suitable for learners aged 16+ and can be accessed by clicking the link here.
