Under 18’s training in clubs now clarified

Hi Everyone,

We appreciate that clubs have been waiting for specific guidance from government and BT regarding what club activity is permitted in England, now that all areas of England have returned to a tiered system.

Sport England have now clarified that Under 18’s in clubs should fully socially distance at all times, as per our existing Return to Training Guidance. Sport England have confirmed that references in generic government guidance to exemptions for under 18’s are not applicable to activity within clubs.

  • Clubs in Tier 1 & Tier 2 can open for all age groups with everyone adhering to social distancing
  • Clubs in Tier 3 can only hold classes for people who were under 18 on 31st August 2020.

(ie: No adult training permitted in Tier 3 apart from coaches) again with everyone adhering to social distancing

This means clubs are fine to open in all tiers using BT’s current Return to Training Guidance where all participants should be socially distanced.
