During the morning of Sunday 15th November 2020, GB National High Performance coaches met with over 130 British Taekwondo members from almost 50 British Taekwondo clubs to engage in their first Talent Development session since the appointment of the new BT Volunteer Committee Structure.
National Team members and grass roots members trained alongside each other over Zoom with National Poomsae Coaches.
The aim of the Talent Development sessions are to provide education and training to athletes and coaches of all levels in Poomsae. The Talent Development Sessions are the first step on the pathway to the National Team, and are a must for anyone serious about developing their Poomsae to be part of the National Team and to do well in a grading.
The students were separated into 3 groups to provide bespoke teaching for all ages and grades. It was a marvellous opportunity to visit aspects of poomsae and review basic technique.
All students trained really hard and worked very well, including some taking notes of important aspects of the training. Everyone who took part left having learned more about poomsae.
The Poomsae Performance Department are planning further sessions and there will be further information released soon about pathway opportunities into the National Squad.
Thank you to everyone who took part, we hope you enjoyed the day!
